Trouble some looking 280
« on: November 01, 2015, 21:45:30 »
I saw this on ebay.  Any thoughts on the floors.  I think it may be rough for the buyer.

“Vehicle is a great driver. Drives great.Vehicle was partial restored and painted over 20 years ago.Vehicle was stored last 10 years.”

= "Vehicle was stored (in a reasonably shallow pond) last 10 years."

Pretty colour and nice tyres, though. Looks like a money pit of considerable proportions depending on the reserve.

I thought the rockers looked poorly patched...  Hides just enough to the non suspecting buyer...

Does the brake booster bracket look bent to anyone?

I was showing this ad to a friend of mine on what to look for for poor repairs.  Almost looks like they used roofing tar to cover poor repairs and hide nasty bits on seams and floors.  I expect there is more than enough rust to keep a very enthusiastic do it yourself owner busy for well over a year on this one.

I love the picture of all the rust in the jacking hole.  A vacuum and a screwdriver would have cleaned most of that up in less than a minute.

I can't tell about the brake booster bracket.

I reckon it sold offline especially at that price.

I reckon it sold offline especially at that price and what appeared to be a very nice car overall.
