230SL Camshaft - Tech info needed please...
« on: June 25, 2012, 09:53:09 »
Hi,

My 230SL cam is quite worn and only just within tolerances, I have a 250SL cam available and apparently they are interchangeable (my car has a 250 head in any event). Are they interchangeable please and if so will the 250 cam be more mild (ie less "hot") and result in a loss of performance?

The nature of the 230 unit is that it needs to rev and as you know has relatively little torque so any cam that affected the free revving nature of the engine would not be a good thing...

Any advice or information would be appreciated !

Thank you,

Steven.
