My -64 230 had a makeshift bracket for the windshield washer pump and now while in restoration, the length of the wiring indicates it must have originally had the kind of shield bracket as in the attached photo. Does anyone have measurements for this or know a place that sells these?
Thanks.

It looks like the pumps should have a small angle bracket, see link below
When you look at replacement pumps, they come with the bracket already attached, so i'm not sure if they are available separately. Should be easy enough to fabricate

Yes, the pumps come with that angle bracket but that’s not what I’m after. As you see in the picture, that pump is not attached as most of the later pumps are, directly with that angle bracket. Rather there is this “shield” and the pump appears to actually be oriented the other way around, thus allowing a connection with a shorter (original) wire from the wiring harness. I’ve seen few pictures now of this shield bracket (including one from Mercedes website of an early 230) and it seems this type of attachment is the only way that works on my vehicle. No matter how I stretch or move the wiring, it won’t be long enough for mounting the pump the most common (later?) way.

After further probing, the early cars did have a different fixing, and possibly a different pump from what is now available

Again, it might be something you need to fabricate if someone can give you dimensions
More of a mystery, they talk about this bracket on an early 63 protype, but then owners of cars from 1966 seem to have them, but some earlier 1965 cars don't. Mine has the small bracket, but the pump may have been replaced complete with the bracket. Can't see what VIN the pump and bracket may have changed

Thanks. Ya, hoping someone would be able to give measurements for fabrication. I haven’t seen that part available anywhere.
