Thanks stick for the good video of the "split linkage test". It could probably be on it's own thread so it is easier to find.

I think it is fantastic that you uploaded this video! I think the link should also be part of Technical Manual. It will be very helpful for a lot of Members who need to do this basic test looking for the sweet spot for idle.

Brilliant,
So easy to understand now
As they say A picture is worth a thousand words
Thanks Stick,

Hi,
thank you for joining this good video!
Hint to view it a little bit more comfortable:
Instructions for rotating the video, e.g. in VLC Media Player (not possible with Windows Media Player)
- Open the video in VLC Player.
- Pause it and click "Tools"> "Effects and Filters" at the top.
- In the new "Customize and Effects" menu, choose Video Effects> Geometry.
- If you enable the "Transform" checkbox, you can rotate the video in 90 degree increments.

Cheers Colin.
Extremely informative, as was testing the barometric compensator in the vacuum bag. Keep them coming !

Great, thank you.

The other good thing is you get to listen to the engine up close That one rattles like a bag of spanners, which I now conclude is fine as Colin is looking after it. Makes me feel much better as mine sounds like that too. The top end rebuild is on hold !

I think the term "split linkage test" was originally coined on this forum. So it looks like our influence at work!
