Wasn't Datsun mostly a name used in the USA?  I think some Datsun cars were sold as Nissans outside of the USA...??

Datsun was the brand name until it was changed to Nissan somewhere in the 70's or thereabouts, in Europe also. So it was probably worldwide. I always wondered why they felt they had to change the name, I liked Datsun better myself.

Apparently "Datsun" is a brand name owned by Nissan. Perhaps (in the past used like the brand name "Mercedes-Benz" of Daimler?). It seems that they are reviving the marque for use on a low-cost vehicle line.
