I've noticed a lot of water assembling in the engine compartment underneath the coolant expansion tank after washing the car as the hood/bonnet has no rubber seal. I've searched a few websites for such a seal but it doesn't seem to exist...can this really be true?
Best regards

Ulf,
There is no seal but there is a drain hole in that cavity which is often blocked.
I will try to find a picture and post it later.

Naj,
Is this the drain hole you are thinking of?

Yes, Bob,
Thats the one!
Is there a similar one under the brake booster?
Thanks

Here's the drain under the brake booster...
Note 100% perfect design... I still get a bit of water that will pool behind this drain hole after I wash the car.
I just go in and sponge it up....

Thanks, Bob,
Not seen that one before!

i try to avoid driving in the rain, and since i discovered Griot's spray wash, i haevn't used a hose on the car in months, but when i did wash the car these little puddles were another reason rt drive it around to clear them out of the engine bay...

I heard Joe A. mention this a few years ago and I have done this ever since....
After washing and drying the car, I go for a drive to do a final "blow dry". This really helps to dry out all of the nooks and crannies...
Thanks Joe!
