The big oops, is the side marker reflectors. This is an early 250 SL, US version, but it has the side markers. Some other nits under the hood, but it would really be great to see it in the metal.

A quick check of 250s on BaT shows many with side market lights.  Were these a running change during the lifecycle for US cars?  I doubt these would have been installed at the dealer or by an owner.

Those of us who were around during the late 60's may remember that it was common to "update" a pre-68 car with side marker lamps or reflectors. IIRC, the early versions were reflectors, easy to install!

The side marker (not lights) on the 250 SL occurred with the big federal change at VIN 2980. There were a host of changes made then. These are all detailed in Pagoda Notes.
