Title: manual shift linkage repair kit
Post by: Slowwindow805 on June 06, 2021, 17:45:44
Having a little trouble shifting up and down on our 230 and was told having this kit installed would help.  When shifting there is no grinding of gears just hard to find the gear and it just seems sloppy to me.  Has anyone had a shift linkage repair kit installed and did it really help?  Thanks for your help

Yes. I have replaced the bushings a couple of times over the years.

You are running on borrowed time.  Makes a huge difference.

Here is some info

Just replaced all bushings (the 4 front ones were gone!) and rubber 2 weeks ago and it makes a huge difference!

Ditto on borrowed time.  I waited to long and could barely shift. Easy, relatively low-cost repair. You will notice a huge difference!

I have fitted  the kit a  few  days ago and had some issues with 2 bushes too thick  ( 1 mm each one !) i have grinded them carefully and pushed the shaft with a piece of wood from the the rear acces so the front fork could be fitted correctly

I agree with the others about what a difference those bushings can make.  Shifting becomes much more precise.  After their installation, things will feel a tad bit stiff but the break in period doesn’t last long.
