Post by: filipiuk on July 12, 2008, 09:17:42
Can anyone recommend a good place to get a reasonably priced fuel tank for the above?

Thank you.  Mike Wilder

Try our supplier page:  http://www.sl113.org/links.asp

Dan Caron (Dr. Benz) has a parts car so he may be able to help with a used one.

Thank you.  I will check these.  Do you know how I can find out what the original color of the car is?

You should call the Mercedes Benz Classic Center and order a copy of your car's datacard. You will need to provide them with your VIN number.

This datacard should contain all the necessary information regarding the original configuration of the car. You can read more in our Technical Manual: http://www.sl113.org/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=DataCard.Start

The Technical Manual contains a lot of useful information for new owners.

K&K MFG has reproduction tanks.  I think they are about 500 bucks.

why are you replacing yours?  sometimes a tank can be cleaned and sealed.

The 230 tank is different than the 280 tank. K&K only has the 280 tank as a repro. The 230SL tank is only available as a MB part and it's about $1,100.00
