carpet snaps_replacement options?
« on: November 08, 2020, 21:53:11 »
Hello All,

I just discovered that the hold down snaps I got from a marine equipment vendor in Seattle are not suitable replacements. After the carpet is captured between the two piece gripper parts, the finished side looks too crappy!

In the photo you can see the OEM stud that screws into the floorboard sheet metal.  (On my car the mating part probably got tossed into a Texas landfill sometime in the 90's because my car had no carpets when I acquired it.)

Can someone post a photo of what the correct post-and-snap items look like? - - - and where you got them?

Many Thanks,

Larry in Santa Rosa

Have you checked Mercedes dealers? I looked at SLS, there are part numbers there, but it is quite easy to find in the EPC.

A 000 988 14 80 Stud (available 72hrs)
A 000 988 84 81 push button (same)

A 111 990 10 40 washer (this one is NLA), this is a simple one, you can get in SLS: https://www.sls-hh-shop.de/main/en/68-covering-68-e-floor-mats-info-and-attached-parts-c-3_2341_112

What is the issue with the above?
