Title: Wood trim blue nut part number?
Post by: Audiophile on December 21, 2010, 00:37:09
I am looking for the part number of the blue nut that holds down the wood trim?  Does anyone know the part number and if not what might work in their place?

Thank you.

Mark

Hello Mark,

The part number for the blue nut has been superseded to A000 990 05 50.

It is unfortunately listed as NLA at the Classic Centre in Germany at the moment.

A similar nut, although in black, can also be found in a Honda Civic Coupé from 1999 vintage.
It holds the plastic trim on the doors in place. Don't have a part number unfortunately.

Mark,
About two years ago I was also looking for the blue nuts.  I went to my MB parts guy and he ordered the "new" nuts.  They are about the same in size and looks except, they are made of metal, but do work just as well.  The reason for the plastic nuts is so you turn with your thumb as to not torque the nut too muck.  If you were to put a wrench on the nut, you would tighten too much and pull the stub bolt out of the wood.  But please do try the "new" metal nuts.  I will look tonight to see if I can find the sales recept to get parts number.

I just received a delivery of the nuts you are looking for from a supplier in Germany.  They are available from either SLS or Niemoeller for 1.07 Euro each.  However as someone noted in an earlier response these are metal "thumb nuts" now.

I do not have my papers with me right now, but if you just search for SLS Mercedes parts and look at page 68a under the W113 catalogue you will find part number 267105.  This is obviously not a Mercedes part number but I received the nuts and they work just fine. I bought mine from Niemoeller but used the SLS part number for reference.

Hope that helps.

How many do you need.  I can check my box of spare parts tomorrow.  I think I have a few.

Here is what I have.  How many do you need?  You can have the exact amount needed so I can share them with others.

Note that there are two different size stud holes even though they all use a 9mm hex on the outside.

Naj,
That's correct.  Make sure the nuts are the larger nuts, and have the larger hole.
