I absolutely love old car literature, brosures, advertisements. I would like to open the topic of having an on-line collection of literature. Take a look at this link on the Jag Lovers forum pages:

I wonder if there is a good place in this forum for digitized Mercedes literature...

You'r right Scott, looks great, but the problem with the thicker brochures is that they are glued together so if you want to scan them then you have to open the brochure completely and the glue will brake so the pages are coming loose ,there is no problem when the brochures are stapled or have a ring mounting.

It wouldn't work well for bound brochures (but photographs could still do a pretty good job).

I don't know if it is the right place here on this forum because I think alot of members are only interested in the Pagoda and not in other MB's.
You see a high score on views but only a few reactions if they like it.

Hello Scott, I did give it a try but the MB brochures from the 50's and 60's are mostly from a bad quality if you open them completely then the pages are coming loose. I show you some examples in the pictures below.

1st a picture from the 200 Fintail from 1965.
2nd a 220 Convertible brochure from 1954.
3rd a 300S brochure.
On the last picture you see the binding of a prewar brochure, they are from a much better quality and are glued and stapled.

The thicker Jaguar brochures are stapled or had a spiral bounding.

The red-one is the Special Roadster Pascal, it's in my opinion the most beautiful Mercedes of all times.

Alll of those 1930's cars are Full Classic today. The ones from the 1950's and 60's are Milestone cars as are our Pagodas.
I have a small collection of similar literature and over 50 dealers books from the 50's and 60's. Some of them are for trucks and engine blocks - not sure how rare those are today. I also have a dealers price list from 1966. Amazing how much prices have increased over the years and in particular, these last couple of years.

Here's a shot from an MB Brochure of a 1968 280 SL. But its not is it? Probably a 250SL used for an early printed piece. Note the rocker panels are the same color as the body...what the heck???
