« on: October 05, 2023, 17:01:25 »
Does any one in the UK have a genuine Mercedes fuel cap that they would sell ?

Many thanks

You may want to specify what type you're looking for.  My pic of the cap with key is not "genuine Mercedes", there is no star on it.

Very clear here,

Go with Rodd's second recommendation, the Gas Cap2.
As good as the original one - and affordable,
but you do not need to pay the ridiculous prices which people sometimes request.

You may try different re-sellers as well:

Good luck.

Yes, fair comment about clarification.

It's the lockable type, like the second picture, but with the Mercedes star on the face.

Thanks.

That will cost you some good $money$, if you can find one.  This source was mentioned in one of the threads below:
https://www.authenticclassics.com/Chrome-Locking-Gas-Cap-late-type-p/auth-002476.htm

And, if you really worry about originality, it will have to be re-keyed to match your keys.

Maybe these recent threads will help you find one?

Ray,
You may want to view palmbeachclassics.com They have both lockable chrome type. Other than having an addition dedicated cap key, these are perfect…..not sure if you are after judging ribbons as the new key will not lock the glovebox…..
Mine works and looks original…….lost my original somewhere along a highway….not well secured!

Hi Ray,
I bought a locking cap with the star from this company http://www.karasch-mb.com/en/index.html
They do speak English.
Cheers,
Jim.

Thanks Bill, I did look at PBC from the Uk website but could not see one with the star. The highway has claimed many a fuel cap I know.

Cheers Jim, have emailed them, let you know what happens.
