Temperature gauge
« on: October 21, 2022, 15:04:19 »
My temperature gauge capillary tube will not fit into the hole between No. 5 and No. 6 spark plug. There seems to be something blocking it from going all the way in. is there a 14 mm extension/adapter I could use? I have tried to adapt some fittings I have, but they do not have a lip/stop to hold the capillary tube against the nut.

Is it a new one or are you trying to reinstall the old one?

Trying to install the old one.

In that case I am no help. I bought a new one (SLS) and this needed some grinding on the OD to fit properly.

If it came out, it should go back in unless something broke off and is blocking the thread.  How long has it been disassembled? Post picture of the capillary tube end and of the area where it is suppose to fit.

Thanks for the help.
I have a newly rebuilt engine from Metric.

What I need is a 14mm, 1.5 male x 14mm, 1.5 female adapter. Seen photo

I have seen one in a photo of the cool kit that Bud´s Benz has and I am talking to David to see what I can get.

Those are standard on most Mercedes heads of the era. Should be easy to find used or new from MB if you get the part number?
