The Last Pagoda
« on: May 23, 2009, 15:19:29 »
The last (?) Pagoda has resurfaced on eBay. It may very well be the last 113 ever produced. I would caution our members who are thinking about bidding/buying it. The seller feels that if this car was any other 113,  it would sell for $25 - $30K. I pity the person who would spend that kind of money on a car in this condition. This car needs an extensive restoration that would cost well into six figures. When finished, it still would be missing its original engine. Complex restorations on rusted, damaged bodies can be a complete nightmare. If I were the seller, I would contact MB in Germany and see if they have interest in this last Pagoda. I would think that MB would want this car, if it is what he says it is. Something is fishy here.

Is this the same car mentioned earlier in the forums? (discussion also had something to do with corvettes if I recall...)

Found it: http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=10025.msg66176#msg66176

I believe it is. Not to beat a dead horse, but for those members who may have not seen the earlier postings regarding this last Pagoda, be careful. Why hasn't MB taken this car under its wings?

I also got some pretty short unhelpful answers last time from the owner when I made some enquiries.  Very suspect. Be careful.

Why wouldn't MB want this car?  Well, it's because it's just another car. Nothing special about it at all. So what if it's the last one. It's beat up ( I didn't bother to look at the pics ) and they have options to buy cars all the time, stuff far more valuable and rare than this thing.

They don't even have only Coupe car ever made, why would they want some POS?
