Title: Injector pump oil removal question
Post by: Worldflier on April 22, 2021, 00:44:30
Good day,

I have read that several of you have replaced the oil in your early fuel injection pumps, but haven’t seen step-by-step instructions, leaving me a little confused as from where to suck the oil.

The dipstick location is difficult to access with any sort of siphon, and this pump doesn’t have the red knob on top. I have taken a picture of what is in that location, thinking this is likely the same fill port. Is there some special way to remove the port cap (is it possible to get a wrench on it?), or does it just unscrew? I didn’t want to use very much force and risk breaking it.

Thanks for your help!
Dre

Ps: Sorry the close-up is so blurry, I was dangling my phone quite a distance!

Thank you. From reading the descriptions, it appears most are taking the oil from the dipstick tube, which is rather tricky to access. Can it also be removed from the fill port? I’m still not sure if mine can be removed (currently not near the car), but assume it must be possible.
