wiper blade question
« on: February 21, 2017, 20:02:19 »
I have a 230sl which I am trying to source chrome Bosch wiper blades for. Are there other differences between post 1967 wiper blades and earlier cars other than the early blades are chrome? Should a 230sl wiper blade be stamped with the Bosch logo or should it say Bosch on it? Does the same apply for a 250 or 280sl? Is the form of the blade different? I thought I remember reading the later car's wiper blades are bulkier looking. I have the ability to acquire stainless wiper blades and could have them chrome plated.  I have searched the forum and have read comments but can't find a definitive answer.

I can't speak to the 230sl blades.  I have used all sorts of aftermarket blades on my 280sl over the years as well as some bulky, ugly black blades from MB but I believe those in the photographs below are the originals.

Ralph, those look correct for a 280SL.

For 230SL, have a look at this thread:

It does look like the earlier blades did have the Bosch logo, based on the pictures in that thread.
