Headlight spade connector
« on: August 09, 2008, 12:00:02 »
I want to replace the rubber "tubes" into the headlight boxes that carry the wires and seal the boxes. I need to remove the connecting plugs to be able to pass the wire bundle thru the tubes. One connector has the removable cover, but I cannot figure out how to get the spades/wires out of the spade connector plug. Is this possible?
Thanks.

Not sure of the particular application. But most spade lug connectors have a tiny tab bent up just slightly to click into place in the surround. You just slip a small screwdriver, or I use an #11 Exacto blade to hold the tab down while pulling the connector free. You slip the tool in from the front ussually and when the tab clicks down it just releases. Of course Mercedes is never "always". It seems every nuance of these cars are unique. Always, all the same, fits all models, etc. never apply here.
