Racing Accidents

Here are a few accidents, but interesting in opening scene of early MB race cars.

No seat belts, roll bars or anything and a few very dead people I think.

impressive, and I think you're right: it looks that there are very few very dead people, but much more of just slightly dead people...  ;D

Wow, the open cockpit car crashes were pretty spectacular! Particularly the one that hit the wall and caught fire. Geesh!

Frightening - it showed the deaths of many, however what interested me was the fact that many walked away - some of those impacts were huge - no seat belts, no padded dashes, no crumple zones and a whole lot of them still survived - just.

Rent the 2013 Ron Howard movie "Rush" when you can...about F1 Drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda in the 70's... more about the story than the accidents specifically but a good flick overall...
