Title: CONTINUOUS BUZZ
Post by: Babis on January 28, 2020, 08:14:34
Hello to everyone,
The last month when car runs at any speed in gear(D) I noticed a deep constant continuous buzz can hear which stops when changed to neutral(N). Any idea what could might be?
Thanks...

Hi,
did you check your transmission oil: correct level* - too less, too much, color - dark, debris, smell - burned?

* Check when engine and tranmission are warm and engine running.

One possibility:

You should search and read about "screaming speedometer" or "screaming tachometer".   Both can make a buzzing sound which can go into a screaming sound.   When the buzz happens, put your fingers on the Tach and see if you feel a vibration.

Since you say, the buzz goes away when in neutral, but still at speed, this should eliminate the speedo and still leaves the tach at possible suspect.

Thank you for the response
I'm sure its not speedometer or tachometer. I know how does they sound.

Thank you
Everything checked! To be specific that deep buzzing sound appears when the engine runs hot and after 5-10 km.

Does the buzz change with speed?
Does it buzz when you stand still and engage D?

i asked these as I had a similar buzz when gear engaged on another car - it turned out to be differential buzzing when load was applied. But if you say it depends on temperature, then I think it is not that probably, so I modified post after you added yours above.
