Title: Steering pump supply fitting
Post by: BOOB on September 17, 2020, 19:38:18
Hello everyone! Working on a ‘65 230SL. I have a quick question about the tube/elbow fitting on top of the power steering pump, where the supply hose from the reservoir attaches. I believe it’s an oring seal, please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m wondering if it’s a swivel assembly with a tube nut that spins freely on the tube or if it’s a solid assembly, which would mean I need to remove the pump to allow me to spin it off. I don’t want to remove the pump unless I have to.

You don't need to remove the pump. Only the nuts spin once you loosen them.

It’s not an oring seal, it’s a double flare.
