1971 280sl sold at Barrett Jackson
« on: January 29, 2007, 22:51:05 »
There was only one Pagoda for sale at Barrett Jackson, Scottsdale surronded by oceans of American muscle cars. The car, an 1971 280sl in very nice shape sold for $61,000. I looked at the car and the interior was in new condition, the engine was clean, paint was excellent and the body panels fit nicely. The two front quarter panels had been replaced - no detail by the headlights. But $61,000 is a strong price for a European when the primary focus is American.

It is nice to see that the prices for our cars seem to be slowly and steadily climbing even in venues where the "hot" sellers are muscle cars.  Strangely, the prices for early VW buses have also gone way up(I also have a '67 Samba).  Maybe German cars are making a run here in the U.S.?
