Paint shop in Southern CA
« on: October 21, 2016, 20:00:31 »
Hello All,

As I am about to finish the bodywork on my car, I am looking for a paint / body shop to do the final paint and finish.
To be more specific, the car is completely disassembled and the body on a rolling frame.  I intend to do all the prep work including sealing, cavity wax, rocker and underbody protection, possibly the deep gray areas of the car. Ideally, the (professional) shop will do the final sanding and the paint.
Do any of you have experience or know of such a paint shop in the Southern California area that you would recommend.  (IE, Orange County, LA, preferably)

Any advice and recommendation in finding and selection of such would be greatly appreciated as well.

I have had work done on both my cars by two fellows that work from a home shop (I believe they used to work at European Auto body, which has pretty well abandoned old cars to go with insurance work). Larry and John did a fabulous job on the rebuild of my 250 SL (some @#$% rear ended it and ran, and a partial repaint on some dodgy areas of my 280 SL). They are located in Valley Center CA. If interested I can supply the contact information.

I've been very satisfied with Hans German Car Repair/Sam's Auto Body on Laurel Canyon in North Hollywood.  They work on all my cars.

Thank you for your help J-B’s. Center Valley is probably a bit far for me. I will check out the Shop on Laurel Canyon.
