Has anyone replaced the fuel pump on a 3.5 with a Mallory or similar non-OEM fuel pump?

Why bother using a Mallory when you can buy the correct fuel pump for less for under $200.00. I would stick to what is original.
I believe this is the right pump part # 0010917101 for your 3.5 Correct me if I'm wrong. see:

You need something that will produce about 35 - 40 PSI. This system runs at 2.1 bar ( 29 PSI ) so you want a pump that's capable of running higher than your line pressure.
