Taken from the front porch this AM.  Sea fog is not too common on the bay but today we're slightly below zero F.  Cars are resting comfortably in their garages on the other side of the house. Forecast is for temperatures in the high 40s with rain by Tuesday. Weatherwise, the eastern end of Long Island is an interesting place to live.

Mine has been sleeping the winter slummer for a few months so it was time to wake her up to
circulate some of that engine oil and let her idle for a spell.

I moved the DD our of the so I could open the driver door once the winter cover was removed
started her up and moved her into the driveway. like Mike's car mine only gets to see the road
in the winter time when the roads are absolutely bone dry :)

Enjoyed the idle sound while Blue Tornado got some fresh cold winter air (-24C this morning).

We had about 8 inches of fresh snow that may melt soon with a warm front aproaching from
the west, so the weatherman promises, then we don't much believe in him do we now ;)

"Hi Mike,
it looks like a great time to enjoy Pagoda with the roof on.
Please enlighten me with the plate of your car.
It looks like the old French plate before the white/yellow period, but it has no department numbers...?"

Hi Stan,
There are 2 types of plates for older cars that one can get in France.
1. If your car is registered as a "Classic Car" you're allowed to use the old style registration plates.
2. If a car's first registration was pre Dec. 1992 you can also use the old style plates.

I never registered mine as classic car, so went for option no.2.  Since about 3 years ago the new French plates no longer show the department no.

Best,

Mike

I happen to have arrived back in California, so yesterday drove a couple of hours south and joined a few of our Pagoda Friends!   What winter?    70F / 21C

Those attending included:  Kampala, Jonny B., 66andBlue, Barry D., Tyler S. and Noreen & Dick.

We had an excellent Mexican lunch (I crave Mexican when in France), lots of Pagoda talk, nice variety of cars and even nicer folks.   And we actually opened some hoods/bonnets.

Nice break from the Paris winter --- soaked up the sun and got sunburned on the top of my bald head.

My Pagoda thanked me for a nice 250 mile roundtrip run.

Hope to do it again.

(didn't really take the opportunity for photos but here are a couple of snapshot)

I just want to know why the tops are all up in such a warm place.  These drivers must have thin blood....LOL.

Nice photo Oz, and wish we could meet up with you So Cal guys sometimes. Pretty sure the car would make the 900 mile RT but not so sure about the driver and navigator. Just solo drives for us up here as we enjoy the same mild weather too and could count the times we see another Pagoda on one hand. Enjoy the weather but pray for rain.

I was thinking the same John, good idea to do this during a nice long California lunch.

Well, truth be told, only ONE pagoda arrived with Top down!   I will leave it to you to determine which one.   ;)

Thinned blood?  Maybe.

Since from the restaurant patio we could not see the pagodas, we closed them up.

49'r, if you ever come down to So Cal with your Pagoda, plan on going waaaaay south, tighter network of Pagoda folks closer to the border.   But, if I'm around and not in France, I'm in your old stamping ground!

Best,

Notice that the Ohio Pagoda's have license plate "PAGODA" and "PAGODA 1".  For any other Ohio Pagoda owners watching "1 PAGODA" is still available from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

I had Friday off work.   I was feeling the effects of a lingering cold and decided I needed a bit of internal combustion rejuvenation.  I had two hours to kill before my exercise class so I decided to check on the snow conditions at a local ski hill.
