Full Membership vs Associate Membership
« on: December 17, 2014, 21:25:36 »
Hi to all Members both Full and Associate.

This post is a bit of a plug for those that are Associate Members to consider becoming Full Members.

For those that are relatively new to the site, I should point out that all, I repeat, all positions on the Board are voluntary, there are no paid positions within the Pagoda SL Group. All monies collected are there for used to maintain the site, cover costs to produce the Pagoda World magazine and postage for the magazine and welcome letters and window stickers for new members. In the past couple of years with the 50th anniversary we used some monies to cover some parts of the gatherings if there was a shortfall and do so for each Us and Euro gathering every alternate year. All attempts are made to ensure they fully self funded. Money has also been spent in the past year in setting up the Group and incorporating in the USA.

The cost for membership has not changed for years and is not likely to in the foreseeable future.

There are some limitations on access to some parts of the site and within the Technical Manual as well as some limits on the storage of PM’s for Associate Members where you will often get “mail box full” notifications.

Thus, the whole Group and the Forum and the Magazine and Pagoda Notes are run by a Committee of Full Members, managed by Full Members and totally dependant on both these volunteers and the small Annual Subscription that we ask you to consider to put in for the service that the Forum and Group provide.

Some members both Full and Associate post hundreds of times and get much benefit from the Group. Some dont post at all with their only link being receiving the Pagoda World each printing. Some subscribe, some don’t and that choice will remain.

Whilst the group has always been well managed financially, I still urge those that have not become Full Members to consider becoming Full Members in support of the Group and support the value it provides to all.

When I became a member a few years back, I never even considered not to be a full member. Anything but doesn't make any sense to me.
However, I never received a welcome letter or window sticker ?
Perhaps Santa ?

Happy Holidays to ALL

Perhaps there should be a limit imposed on the number of threads that can be started by associate members?

When you really think about it .... Annual Dues are $30 or Euros €25 ... That is per...

MONTH  $2.50 or Euros €2.08

PER WEEK  $0.57 or Euros €0.48

PER DAY  $0.08 or Euros €0.07

Where else can you get this kind of frendship, wealth of information about your car and so much more for less then a cup of coffee we pay per week ... I'm just saying. :)

per min:
per sec:

 ;D ;D ;D

but seriously... you made a good point... this is money well spent.

I look at it as money well spent for me as well as keeping the place running so others can benefit as I have. Kind of "pay it forwards"

Hi Stan,

Per day is fine for me :) if I cannot afford the 10 cents a day then something is seriously wrong and it would be time to let go of the Pagoda  ;D

I think we should recognize Long Standing Members ... something to think about

280SL71 celebrates 12 years the day before Christmas .... Congratulations Richard M. of NYC, NY

I am more than happy to pay my annual membership.  It is the least I can do on my part to make so that this group continues to exist.  Of course my dues alone aren't enough so I strongly feel that all should contribute.

Many have benefited from this group, so it's time for the group to reap in some benefits of its own.

Just my two cents worth!

Santa is old and quite large, so I think he is not only busy but perhaps a little slow too.
Just wondering how the bunny will look like ?
