Pagoda in the movies
« on: November 16, 2014, 16:54:58 »
Hello All,

In one of the early  scenes of the current film “Nightcrawler” a Pagoda can be plainly seen.

The main character, a low-life huckster, is seen prowling the late night streets of Los Angeles in his crappy little Corolla.

While we watch, he drives past a classic auto dealer. The camera pans across the showroom floor capturing images of a Corvette, an XKE and a Pagoda.

Enjoy!

I rented the first season of Hawaii 5-0 (1968) and in the 3rd episode "Tiger by the Tail" a dark Grey pagoda with hardtop on is seen in the background and drives past.  Very nice colour.

Not many fancy cars in the background - lots of Volks bugs.

My daughters have become very bored with the same jokes I have always and last night as I was joking around talking about Labrador (dog) feces and Sergeant Stedenko, my oldest asked if it was a real thing.   I said  "Yes, these are all from Cheech and Chong movies".   They had never heard of them.   I turned on "Up in Smoke" and low and behold right at the beginning Tommy Chong drives out of the garage with a Rolls Royce grill strapped to the front of his Volks Bug, he passes right by a lovely Pagoda and then the Rolls Royce he liberated the grill from.
