Transmission mount replacement

Hi.
I'm looking for a procedure to replace the transmission mount on my 280 SL.
An exploded view would help some.
I can't find it in the BBB, Tech Manual, or Forum.
If you can point me to a page, link, or post, I would appreciate that.

Mark,
Unless I'm really forgetting something, it is rather straight forward.  From memory, the tranmission is sitting on a mount that is bolted through the support plate.  Just support the transmission with a jack, unbolt the mount and the dozen or so bolts that hold the plate and remove it.  Put the new rubber mount in place as you replace the plate.  Tighten it all up.  If you have a lift, your beer won't get warm by the time you finish.

I do see an exhaust shield that might get in my way ...
I don't have a lift .... but I do have beer  ;D
I might wait until this afternoon for the beer. ;)

Oh yeah.  Forgot about that one bolt that the exhaust pipe blocks.  You'll need some patience for that one.

I'm all done now. I sure did need patience for the one that is blocked by the exhaust.
I used a box end wrench coming at it from the front of the car. It was a pain. I was only able to move it about 5 degrees with every "swing".
BUT, I was very happy I didn't have to move or remove the exhaust.  :)
I can't wait to see how the car feels. I did the motor mounts too. It will still be a few more weeks. I'm in the middle of other projects on it too.

For future reference, invest in a set of box end ratchet wrenches.  I use them almost every time I work on any car.  It always pleases me when I have the right tool for the right job.   8)
