Additional Search Formats
To find pages containing two or more specified words:
Enter each word in the search box separated by and
Example: motor and oil
Finds pages having both "motor" and "oil" but not pages having only one of these words.
Caution
A search for a word that appears in the design on each page, will return a result of every page on the site. For example, a search for "W113" returns hundreds of citations since "W113" appears on every page. Best not to use common words but to use search words that are unique to your search.
To reject pages having a specified word or phrase:
Enter the word or words you want to find into the search box followed by not then the words or phrase to be rejected.
Example: motor not oil
Finds pages with motor but rejects any page with oil
To find pages with an exact phrase:
Enter the exact phrase into the search box in quotes. Example: "running rich"
If a very specific phrase is used such as "soft top installation", no results will show unless the exact phrase is on the web site. Better to use a more general short phrase or word such as "soft top". If not successful, try variations such as "softtop" "convertible top" "rag top".
Spelling and Word Variations
This is an international site. Users might vary spelling or words. If a search is not successful, try a variation. The most common problem is UK and US English such as "aluminium" "aluminum" or "spanner" and "wrench". UK and US names for car parts are different: "bonnet" for "hood" "boot" for "trunk" "wing" for "fender" "valve" for "plug" and more. Try some variations to help the search.
Combination search: Search types can be combined.
Example: "running rich" not oil
Finds pages with the phrase running rich but rejects any page containing oil even if the page contains running rich
